‘Spirit of India Run’: Pat Farmer reaches Udaipur
Pat Farmer, an ultra marathon runner and former minister in the Australian government who is on a 4,600 km ‘Spirit of India Run’ from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, arrived in Udaipur on Sunday.
Farmer and his team were given a warm welcome by officials of the tourism department at Hotel Shikarbadi followed by a cultural programme.
“The run is a one-of-a-kind public diplomacy initiative intended to promote India-Australia relations, and raise money for the education of the girl child. It is expected to promote goodwill, friendship, tourism and trade between the two countries,” said Farmer while interacting with the media.
He said his experience during the tour so far had been amazing as he passed through various cities, villages meeting people and witnessing India’s immense diversity and vibrant culture. Read More…
